Intensive Couples Counseling in Elizabethtown, PA
When the same argument keeps circling back, weekly sessions can feel like bailing water one cup at a time. A couples intensive is different. Instead of an hour a week stretched across months, you and your partner get one focused block of time to reach the real issues underneath the conflict and start turning things around. It is not a last resort, and it does not mean your relationship is failing. It means you are ready to do concentrated, honest work together, and to feel real momentum quickly.

What Is a Couples Intensive?
A couples intensive is an extended, focused session that helps you make meaningful progress in a fraction of the usual time. Instead of spreading the work over weeks, as in traditional couples counseling, you and your partner stay engaged long enough to reach the deeper patterns beneath the conflict, practice new ways of relating, and leave with a clear plan. It removes the stop-and-start rhythm of weekly therapy, where a hard week can undo the progress of the last session.
A Different Kind of Intensive
Most couples work tries to referee, sorting out who did what and who needs to change. That is not how I work. Grounded in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), an intensive with me is warm and direct, and it holds both of you accountable, not to assign blame, but because lasting change is built by two whole people who can each speak honestly and repair quickly. We move past the surface argument to the patterns driving it, and you leave with tools you can actually use, not just insight about what went wrong.
What Your Intensive Includes
Every intensive is built around your specific relationship rather than a fixed script, and each one includes a preparation call beforehand, so we arrive with a clear focus, and a follow-up session afterward to lock in what you have built. You choose the length that fits the work, from a focused half day to three full days. A half or full day suits a specific issue, a decision, or a reset, while two and three-day formats give room for deeper patterns, rebuilding after a betrayal, or a relationship that needs more than a single day can hold. In our time together we work to:
- Identify and interrupt the patterns that keep pulling you apart
- Understand the emotions driving conflict and distance
- Build communication rooted in honesty, respect, and accountability
- Repair trust and rebuild emotional and physical connection
Whether we meet in person at my Elizabethtown office or by secure telehealth, intensives are available to couples located anywhere in Pennsylvania.
Is a Couples Intensive Right for You?
An intensive is a strong fit if your relationship feels at a turning point, if communication has broken down, or if you simply want to make real progress without waiting months for it. It is also a good option for couples whose schedules make weekly sessions hard to sustain, and for those navigating a specific rupture or decision who want focused, dedicated time to work it through. If you are not sure whether it fits, that is exactly what the free consultation is for.
Investment and Payment
A couples intensive is a private pay service and is not billed to insurance, since insurance covers treatment for a diagnosed individual rather than focused work on a relationship. Intensives are offered at a set rate rather than the sliding scale, and every option includes your preparation call and a follow-up session.
- Half-day intensive, about four hours: $900
- Full-day intensive, about seven hours: $1,600
- Two-day intensive, about fourteen hours across two days: $3,000
- Three-day intensive, about twenty-one hours across three days: $4,200
A 50 percent deposit reserves your dates, and payment plans are available for the balance so the cost can be spread over time. A limited number of reduced-rate intensives are held for couples in genuine financial need, offered by application.
Schedule Your Couples Intensive
You do not have to stay stuck in the same pattern. A couples intensive can give you, in days rather than months, the kind of momentum that weekly sessions sometimes cannot.
