Family is where we first learn love, belonging, and identity — and sometimes, where we lose our way. When tension, distance, or stress begins to build, it doesn’t mean your family is broken. It means something in the system needs care, clarity, and support.
Family therapy creates a space for each person to be seen and understood. It’s about discovering new ways to listen, communicate, and work together — so your family can grow closer and more connected.
When Family Feels Stuck
Every family hits rough water from time to time. Maybe conversations keep turning into arguments, or maybe everyone has retreated into silence. Perhaps a loss, transition, or major change has shaken the family’s rhythm.
You might notice:
- Constant tension or misunderstanding
- Emotional distance between parents, children, or siblings
- Struggles with boundaries, respect, or cooperation
- Stress following divorce, grief, or trauma
- A sense that everyone’s trying, but nothing is really changing
Family therapy helps you create the understanding and habits that make connection possible again with patience, empathy, teamwork, and trust.
How Family Therapy Helps
In our sessions, we’ll explore the patterns that shape your family’s interactions and identify what helps or hinders connection.Together, we’ll work to:
Strengthen communication and emotional safety
Rebuild trust and connection after conflict or change
Encourage empathy and understanding across generations
Develop problem-solving skills that last
Create a home environment where each person feels seen and supported
When a family grows stronger as a unit, every member benefits. You’ll begin to feel more peace at home, more cooperation in daily life, and a renewed sense that you’re all on the same team.
My Approach
I draw from Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help families understand both structure and emotion.
Our work focuses on balance — where parents can lead with confidence, children feel safe and heard, and everyone has space to grow.
Sessions are active, compassionate, and practical. The goal isn’t to analyze the past but to create new patterns in the present — ones that reflect the kind of family you want to become.
Common Family Issues I Work With
Parent–child conflict
Co-parenting after separation or divorce
Sibling rivalry or distance
Emotional regulation and communication struggles
Behavioral challenges in children or teens
Grief, loss, or major transitions
What to Expect
Family therapy can include all family members or focus on specific relationships, depending on your goals. Most families begin with an initial assessment to clarify needs and patterns, followed by ongoing sessions that emphasize communication, structure, and repair.
You’ll leave with clear tools, more understanding, and a shared direction forward.
Rates and Insurance
Family therapy is considered a private-pay service, as most insurance plans do not cover relational or systemic work in its full scope.
Insurance companies typically require treatment to focus on one identified client with a diagnosable mental health condition (such as anxiety or depression). While this can technically include family members in session, it doesn’t reflect the true nature of family therapy — where the focus is on the relationships themselves, not a single diagnosis.
Because of this, I offer family therapy as a private-pay service, allowing us to focus fully on what matters most: the patterns, emotions, and connections that shape your family as a whole.
60-minute session: $15590-minute session: $185
Private pay provides greater flexibility and privacy, and ensures our work centers on your family’s needs — not an insurance requirement.
Payment is accepted by: cash, check, or all major credit cards.
Reclaim Your Connection
Families thrive when understanding replaces tension and teamwork takes root. With the right support, your family can rediscover what it feels like to feel close again — to listen, respect, and care for one another from a place of trust.
If you’re ready to start that process, I’d be honored to help.
